Their fund raisers have included a Race Evening, Summer and Christmas Fayres, weekly bonus ball. They were present at the Rushbearing and the Grasmere Sports with tombolas and raffle. They secured fund matching from Lakeland Ltd to a ceiling of £6,000 to be raised in four months. Monies were raised through the sale of calendars and jam - through providing refreshments at Hound Trails and from charity events organised by others throughout the community - namely a large donation from the Trades Association Festival of Stars - a duck race by the Wordsworth Hotel, a concert by the Army Cadet Force Band - and a folk night sung by our local Doctor Ian Birkett and his group Panik Attak.
